Sorry for the slackness

I must apologize for lack of posts recently - in fact most of the summer is probably going to be a little scatty but I will try to post my finds whenever I can.
We have lots of travel plans, which is going to be lots of fun and I am really looking forward to it........yippee long live summer!

The Prettiest Math Book

This could be the Prettiest Math Book ever, if we had text books like this at school maybe I would have looked forward to the subject. I have always been bad at math despite the fact that my Dad was a math teacher!?!
Aren't these just delightfully lovely, the colors are like candy and the pages are like gift wrap or fabric designs.
Maybe if the teacher had handed out a book like this when I was a kid I would have thought it was time to start drawing - yipeeee.

What Makes a Shadow? Adrienne Adams

One of my latest finds - What Makes a Shadow? by Clyde Robert Bulla illustrations by Adrienne Adams.
The color combination's in this book are lovely, I especially like the bright cheery orange!
The details are so pretty and I like that they have a graphic quality to them.
It looks like there are some available here.

The Fabulous Firework Family - James Flora

So it did turn into a Jim Flora week!
The Fabulous Firework Family written and illustrated by James Flora.
This book alternates between black and white and color spreads, Flora also redrew the whole book much later (1994), the style of the illustrations are quite different and look like they were done in pencil crayon.
This is the original version (1955), I personally prefer this style.
