There are many different illustrated versions of this book, but these illustrations by William Nicholson are my favorite.

I have this edition but mine is in a book sleeve and I can't seem to figure out how old it is

I just purchased this edition in a thrift store. I'm also trying to figure out when it was published. I guess we'll have to ask Doubleday.
